AND
Red Horse Stables
I started Red Horse Stables (aka RHS) with my wife Corrie in 2011. She was the Riding Academy Director at Lake Oswego Hunt Club while I was the assistant for Kelly Smith of Creekside Stables, this was in 2009. We both left those positions to start our own training program, RHS in 2011. We had 3 red horses and the hopes that the conversation we just had at Rolling Rock Farm with Jan would come to fruition, and it did. I’m forever thankful to Jan for giving me her hand and helping me to start my business.
Life is in constant motion and has plans for you that you just can’t imagine. In 2015 I decided to accept an offer to be the assistant of Megan Jordan. It was just the opportunity that I needed to develop professionally. I closed RHS and worked for Megan until 2020. I rode tons of horses, showed in the Hunters and Jumpers a ton and just really grew as a rider and business professional. I broke my leg in October 2020. Someone once told me “ If you want to make God chuckle, tell him your plans.” I thought of this many times while laying in bed, thinking my life over as I knew it, possibly to not walk again, it took them 10 days to even operate on my leg, thanks COVID!
Feeling like my life was over was not an option for my wife. 8 weeks after my surgery Corrie packed me up, wheelchair, pillows, blankets and all, and drove me to the barn. She wheeled me in and I was overcome with emotion and just broker down. She told me to go get my horse.
I realized that the first time I started RHS I wasn’t being true to myself. I had lost passion. God has blessed me the chance to have a do-over and I’m just loving it this time around.
This sport is passionate! Passion for the horse, passion to continue to improve, passion for learning, passion for teaching, passion for the sport. My program is centered around riding in sync with your horse. While we all have our own style, I believe we can ride in harmony with our horse. I help by providing the horses with training and proper muscle development to create balanced and happy horses who can do their jobs happily and I provide you with the tools to enjoy your horse. I admit, I am a stickler for details but it’s my passion for doing things correctly and fairly for the horse and rider.
You may have seen us at the shows, we have a great time! We have fun in lessons and at shows, we are a community at RHS. We’re all here because of our love for horses and the sport. I teach in a positive, supportive, always progressing towards better environment. I enjoy the challenge that the sport presents me and the bond that is created with each and every horse and rider. My passion is developing talented young horses to the Grand Prix or Hunter Derby levels as well as helping my clients achieve their goals and developing their own style of riding. I believe each person has their own style and my job is to give them the tools to excel.

Lukas. This beautiful soul helped me recover more than words can express.
